Tat Gıda Receives EUR 20 Million Loan

Tat Gıda has secured EUR 20 million in financing from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to support productivity improvements and sustainability-focused investments in its production, which is conducted with advanced technology and the highest food safety and quality standards. Tat Gıda aims to use this financing to modernize equipment in order to increase efficiency and to finance working capital requirements that will support digital transformation. Tat Gıda, one of Turkey's major food producers in tomato paste, sauce, ready meals and canned products, has secured financing support of EUR 20 million from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). With the financing provided, Tat Gıda aims to support its growth plans and working capital requirements to meet increasing domestic and foreign demand for its products, and to finance digital transformation initiatives aimed at improving productivity. Tat Gıda and EBRD will also implement a cooperation program to support youth participation in Turkey's agricultural industry sector. Under this scope, a new training program will be prepared aimed at equipping young people with the skills needed to adopt modern agricultural technologies and digital applications for high-value food processing activities. Tat Gıda also plans to further increase financing opportunities focused on these areas to strengthen sustainability initiatives that it has placed at the center of its business model within the framework of corporate governance principles. Evren Albaş, General Manager of Tat Gıda, noted that they will continue more strongly with productivity and sustainability-focused investments with the financing support provided, and stated: "For 55 years we have been offering consumers products of known origin, natural and high quality, with the highest food safety standards in the world. By applying our innovation approach to our supply, production and product processes, we are leading our sector in end-to-end digitalization and smart agriculture applications. We are very pleased to have reached an agreement with EBRD to increase our investments in this area and develop our sustainability initiatives."
