Tai Chi Becomes a Lifestyle Trend: ChemMedia Attended the "Nervous System Reset" Ritual

At a time when beauty is expanding "from the outside in" and concepts such as ritual and "inner beauty" are on the rise, the ChemMedia team experienced Shan Club's Tai Chi session at The Grand Tarabya firsthand.
In a period where beauty is expanding "from outside in" and concepts of ritual and "inner beauty" are rising, the ChemMedia team experienced Shan Club's Tai Chi session at The Grand Tarabya firsthand.
The cosmetics and personal care agenda in recent years has expanded beyond skin surface alone to also encompass stress, sleep, breathing and nervous system balance. A concrete example of this approach, referred to as "skin-mind / inner beauty," took place at The Grand Tarabya on 20 June 2026.

At the center of the program was Tai Chi, which has recently regained popularity in the lifestyle world. This ancient practice, defined as "meditation in motion" through its slow and flowing movements, is known for supporting balance and flexibility, reducing stress, and strengthening focus and breath awareness. When combined with breath and attention, it becomes an effective ritual that calms the nervous system — at the very heart of stress management and "ritual" culture familiar to the cosmetics-lifestyle reader.

The ChemMedia team also participated in Shan Club's signature "Tai Chi & Nervous System Reset" session, founded by Duygu Sancaklı Dandin and Esat Ataaç. The program began with opening remarks by Duygu Sancaklı Dandin; Esat Ataaç then guided participants through slow and flowing movements that calmed both body and mind. In Esat Ataaç's words, "In Tai Chi there is no hurry; as we slow down, the body relaxes and the mind becomes calm."
Slow living, nervous system regulation and "wellbeing rituals" have become increasingly visible both in global cosmetics brand communications and in consumer demand. The rise of low-paced, breath-focused practices such as Tai Chi is a concrete part of this trend.
Following the strong interest shown by over 30 participants in the experience, a weekly Tai Chi program is now being offered every Tuesday and Saturday from 09:00–10:00 at The Grand Tarabya Hotel, starting from 27 June.
