Applications Open for “Sustainable Business Awards”

Applications for the Sustainable Business Awards, held annually to recognise successful sustainable business models, opened on 30 April. In its fifth year, the competition, which will be evaluated by a jury composed of academics, added the categories 'Social Enterprise of the Year', 'Women's Empowerment' and 'Employee Engagement/Commitment'. Applications across a total of 14 categories will continue until 13 July. The "Sustainable Business Awards" aims to encourage sustainability transformation in Turkey by sharing successful projects that create significant impact on social, economic and environmental issues with a broad audience. Organised for the fifth time this year with the aim of accelerating the transition to innovative, circular and responsible business models and enabling projects with holistic sustainable approaches to serve as role models. The application process for the Sustainable Business Awards, which began on 30 April, will continue until 13 July. In addition to large-scale companies, SMEs, start-ups, social enterprises and local authorities can also submit applications for the awards. Following evaluation by an eminent jury composed of leading figures in their fields in Turkey, the competition winners will be announced at an awards ceremony to be held in October.

3 New Categories Added

The competition, which has been organised in the categories of Carbon and Energy Management, Water Management, Social Impact, Sustainability Communication, Collaboration, Supply Chain Management, Waste Management, Diversity and Inclusion, Start-Up, Sustainability Reporting and Sustainable Innovation, added the categories 'Social Enterprise of the Year', 'Women's Empowerment' and 'Employee Engagement/Commitment' for the first time this year. The Collaboration category was also opened for applications as two sub-categories. Under the B2B Collaboration heading, collaborations conducted between private-sector organisations (for-profit organisations) will be evaluated, and under the B2NGO Collaboration heading, collaborations conducted between private-sector organisations (for-profit organisations) and civil-society organisations (non-profit organisations) will be evaluated.
