Clariant's Texcare® Polymers Redefine Laundry Washing Standards

Clariant is introducing the stain-removal polymers TexCare ® SRN 260 and TexCare ® SRA 300 for use in modern detergents, thereby facilitating the cleaning and care of fabrics containing polyester in particular. The polymers, which offer benefits such as soil removal and prevention of graying for fabrics, also help protect the environment by absorbing moisture and reducing water and electricity consumption. The laundry detergent sector has become a growing industry globally due to rising living standards, increasing population, growing consumer purchasing power and disposable income. The total sales revenue of the global laundry products sector is estimated to reach USD 85 billion in 2017. Turkey, as a developing economy, is an important market for laundry care products with its high population and growing laundry washing sector. Last year, Turkey's total laundry detergent product exports exceeded USD 900 million. Additionally, the fact that 88% of laundry care products used in Turkey consist of detergents and the remaining 12% of soaps indicates the potential opportunities and attractiveness offered by the detergent market in Turkey. SRN 260, intended for use in liquid detergents, and SRA 300, intended for use in powder detergents, offer numerous benefits in addition to their effectiveness in protecting against and removing soil. Through the advantages provided by TexCare ® polymers, textile products can be washed more gently, thus sustaining less damage from the mechanical, thermal and chemical stresses resulting from the washing process. The soil-repellent coating created by these polymers on textile products containing polyester also makes textile products less susceptible to oil-based and particulate soils in particular. Through these methods, any staining that occurs can be easily removed from the fabric during washing. In addition to these advantages of the new polymers for textile products, they also offer significant benefits in terms of wearing comfort for polyester-containing textile products. Through the enhanced moisture-absorption properties of SRN 260 and SRA 300, polyester-containing garments feel softer and more pleasant on the skin while absorbing perspiration more effectively.
