Sözal Kimya Makes Major R&D Investment
Sözal Kimya Prepares Major R&D Investment
Global pandemic-driven price increases in raw materials used in industrial sectors continue to impact the chemical industry.
Eren Sözal, Chairman of Sözal Kimya, stated that the company continues efforts to secure raw material supply in the textile chemicals field, while accelerating R&D-focused work and preparing for a major investment.
Operating in many areas of the chemical sector, Sözal Kimya has served markets across Turkey and worldwide since 2007 with a broad portfolio of textile chemicals and dyes.
During this period, as Sözal Kimya expanded its operations, the company has prepared for a 10 million dollar investment in plastics and chemicals.
Focus on Imported Product Categories
Sözal Kimya Chairman Eren Sözal drew attention to how changed business processes due to the coronavirus pandemic have affected raw material supply in the chemical sector, stating: "The chemical industry is one of the key sectors providing intermediate inputs to many industries. In the textile chemicals field, there are raw material challenges. Unfortunately, the R&D and innovation work undertaken has not yet reached sufficient levels. As Sözal Kimya, we accelerated our innovation efforts with a 30-person team at our R&D centre established in 2017. We focused our efforts on high-value-added product categories that are currently imported in the sector. We plan to introduce to the market a four-stage product our R&D teams are developing for the first time." Sözal also emphasized that healthy and sustainable growth can only be achieved through investments in knowledge and technology, stating: "We aim to develop solutions in software that can compete with both national and global technology companies, and to bring value-added products to the software sector. We have a major investment plan of 10 million dollars in plastics and chemicals." SourceAdvertisement
