Schlötter's New Process and Evbee's New Technology EV4DC to Debut Worldwide at PaintExpo

Industrial coatings and surface treatment technologies play a critical role across numerous sectors—from automotive to white goods, defence to electronics—in enhancing product surface quality, improving durability and reducing environmental impact. Against the backdrop of rising demand and technical innovations in this field, two major trade fairs are preparing to bring the sector together again. 

PaintExpo Eurasia and Surtech Eurasia will take place simultaneously at Istanbul Convention Centre from 1–3 October 2025. Organised by Artkim Fuarcılık, this major gathering will unite domestic and international companies, investors and professionals working in coating technologies and surface treatment solutions under one roof. PaintExpo Eurasia, being held for the 8th time this year, will showcase the latest applications in industrial painting and coating technologies, while Surtech Eurasia, opening its doors for the 7th time, will focus on surface treatment, galvanising, chemical coating and cleaning solutions. The event will feature technical seminars and panels addressing sectoral regulations, sustainable coating solutions, energy efficiency, environmentally friendly processes and new technological approaches. The fair, expected to draw professionals from many countries, particularly Europe and the MENA region, will create opportunities for new partnerships. PaintExpo & Surtech Eurasia 2025, beyond being a commercial platform, will be a meeting point of knowledge, technology and business networks, shedding light on the future of surface treatment and coating technologies. The most recently held PaintExpo Eurasia fair welcomed 4,283 visitors from 44 countries over three days. The largest number of international visitors came from Italy, Tunisia, Algeria, Bulgaria, Iran, China, Russia, Hungary, Germany and Switzerland. A significant increase in visitor numbers and representation from more countries is expected this year.

SECTOR MARKET VALUE REACHED USD 27.4 BILLION
Reflecting rising demand in Europe, the industrial coatings and surface treatment market reached USD 27.4 billion in 2024. This growth has accelerated R&D investments, driven by increasing interest in functional, sustainable and high-performance coating solutions.

In this context, a global product launch will take place at PaintExpo Eurasia 2025. Schlötter will introduce for the first time at this event new-generation coating processes it has developed for connectors with special electrical and tribological properties. The new processes aim to boost manufacturing efficiency, particularly in sectors requiring high precision such as automotive, aerospace and electronics. These technologies, offering high conductivity and wear resistance in combination, will not only enhance product performance but also contribute to environmental sustainability through lower energy consumption. Another innovation highlighted at the fair is a technology set to revolutionise energy transfer: EV4DC. This solution enables direct and high-speed DC energy transfer from one electric vehicle to another—without the need for an additional battery or fixed energy infrastructure. Expected to be groundbreaking in mobility and smart transport solutions, this system is opening a new era in energy sharing.

CONFERENCES TO ADDRESS THE SECTOR'S FUTURE
Technical conferences within PaintExpo and Surtech 2025 will address topics shaping the sector's future:

• Lukas Hanstein, Director of Political Affairs at ZVO, will assess current surface technology regulations in Europe.
• Prof. Dr. Lütfi Özyüzer from Izmir High Technology Institute will share recent developments in thin film technologies in his presentation titled "Innovative Coating Techniques for Conformal Surfaces".
• Dr. Thomas Gabrysch will provide information on innovative ventilation solutions delivering energy savings in industrial applications.

Surtech Eurasia – Surface Treatment, Galvanising Chemicals and Technologies Fair, being held for the 7th time this year, will bring sector professionals together in Istanbul from 1–3 October. Taking place at the intersection of surface treatment, galvanising and chemical surface preparation technologies, the fair will also stand out for live demonstrations in the event areas. These areas, expected to be among the fair's most popular sections, will offer visitors the chance to see and experience sectoral innovations firsthand. Among the participants, Podim Robotics stands out with advanced technological solutions it has developed in robotic sanding and polishing applications. Developing turnkey robotic systems aimed at increasing efficiency, quality and workplace safety in industry, Podim Robotics will display robot-assisted surface treatment technologies catering to various sectors at Surtech Eurasia.
