Roche Turkey Supporting Education for Earthquake-Affected Children Roche Turkey has joined forces with Türk Eğitim Derneği (TED) to ensure that children who lost their parents in the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş can continue their education without interruption. Under the cooperation, Roche will meet the eight-year educational needs of two hundred earthquake-affected children. Roche, which adds value to the health ecosystem through its innovative solutions, continues its relief efforts to alleviate the burden on society following the earthquakes that occurred in Kahramanmaraş and affected 11 provinces. Roche Turkey has in this context joined forces with Türk Eğitim Derneği (TED), one of Turkey's most established civil society organizations, to ensure that children who lost their parents in the earthquakes can continue their education without disruption. Under the cooperation, Roche will provide academic, psychological, in-kind and social support as well as financial assistance to two hundred students over eight years through the scholarship fund "Earthquakes Must Not Destroy Our Future," which was launched by TED and implemented under the coordination of the Ministry of National Education. The project, implemented to support the education of preschool, primary and secondary school-level children who lost their parents in the earthquake regions, was put into practice through a protocol signed by TED and Roche. Regarding the cooperation, Türk Eğitim Derneği General Chair Selçuk Pehlivanoğlu stated: "Türk Eğitim Derneği, the most established civil society organization in the education field in our country, has stood by our children through all difficult periods our country has experienced in its 95-year history. It is our duty to hold the empty hands of children who lost their parents in the earthquake. For them, we launched our 'Earthquakes Must Not Destroy Our Future' campaign. As a civil society organization focused on youth and their quality education, we consider it a responsibility and duty to stand by our children throughout their educational lives, and we extend our thanks to Roche Turkey for their invaluable contributions."
Roche Pharma Turkey General Manager Dr. Natasa Klicko made the following comments on the matter:
"As Roche Turkey, following the earthquakes that occurred on 6 February, we mobilized all our resources and quickly began our work in the region. In line with our global vision, our priority has always been to meet the needs of society and improve lives. While we continue our work for the continuity of health services, we are taking action to provide educational support to ensure that the education lives of earthquake-affected children are not disrupted. We are proud to participate in the 'Earthquakes Must Not Destroy Our Future' campaign organized by Türk Eğitim Derneği and hope that our contributions will provide a better future for our children. By working together, we can support reconstruction and recovery processes in the provinces affected by the earthquake."   Roche Diagnostics Turkey General Manager, Turkey & Central Asia and Caucasus Countries Management Center Chair Jordi Fernandez Capo said: "We are proud of this new cooperation with Türk Eğitim Derneği because we believe that supporting the education and learning lives of children who lost their parents in the earthquake is the first step in giving them hope. While we continue to focus on the continuity of health services, we hope that through this partnership we can contribute to the recovery of the region."
