Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kırman Receives Executive of the Year Award Şişecam, a global player in the glass and chemicals sectors, has added another award to its collection as an outcome of its sustainability and excellence-focused operations. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kırman, Chairman and Member of the Board of Şişecam, has been recognized with the Executive of the Year award at Le Fonti Awards, the award platform of Le Fonti, one of Italy's leading business publications. At the ceremony held on 6 October in Milan, Italy, Kırman received his award and spoke as follows: "As the founder and pioneer of the Turkish glass industry operating in all geographies where we are active, we take justified pride in representing our country's production capacity, and we continue our journey of creating sustainable value through our development and growth approach that encompasses all our stakeholders." Adding another award to its collection as an outcome of its inclusive, excellence-focused and sustainable operations, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kırman, Chairman and Member of the Board of Şişecam, has been recognized with the Executive of the Year award at Le Fonti Awards, the award platform of Le Fonti, one of Italy's leading business publications. Prof. Dr Ahmet Kırman highlighted that Şişecam, as a global player with production operations spanning 14 countries across four continents and sales in over 150 countries, stands as an exemplary institution with its focus on global excellence, innovation, sustainability and strong governance capabilities. He expressed the following: "As a global player in the glass and chemicals sectors, Şişecam today ranks among the top five companies in its main areas of operation worldwide. On our value-creating growth journey with our global excellence strategy, we operate with 24,000 employees and 45 facilities. We continue our investments and growth with the aim of becoming one of the three largest players in the world in our main areas of operation, and we create sustainable value in every geography where we are present. When managing such a powerful and large structure, placing excellence at the core of our business processes is essential for success. Noting that Şişecam today sees Italy, where it produces in the chromium, flat glass and refractory sectors, as an important gateway to Western Europe, Prof. Kırman continued his remarks as follows: "We are expanding our operations that began in Italy in 2005 with new investments, and we provide employment for 550 employees in the country. Today, we are the largest Turkish investor in the country. We continue to contribute to the country's economy through our value-added products, our employment and our exports, and we are pleased to see this contribution recognized. The Star Medal and the title of Knight presented to me by presidential decree in 2019 from Italy had been a source of pride for me. I am particularly pleased to receive such a meaningful award from Le Fonti TV. I have full confidence that our strong business partnerships with Italy will continue as we write Şişecam's global success story," he said.
