PPG Completes Acquisition of Automotive Refinish Products Manufacturer SEM Products

PPG announced it has completed the acquisition of SEM Products Inc., a U.S.-based automotive refinish (topcoat and repair paints) manufacturer. Financial terms were not disclosed. SEM, located in Rock Hill, South Carolina, with approximately 80 employees, is one of the leading manufacturers of repair and maintenance products used primarily in automotive and other transportation applications. The company is known for a variety of flagship products offering convenience, including Color Coat - an original flexible coating and mixing system. These products include Bumper Coater for restoration of OEM plastic bumper and panel coatings and Dual Mix, a two-part cartridge system for adhesives, fillers and sealants.
