PPG Introduces Envirocron™ Extreme Protection Edge

PPG has introduced PPG EnvirocronTM Extreme Protection Edge coatings, which use an advanced powder coating technology pending patent approval and provide extraordinary edge corrosion protection in a single coat. Specially formulated to cover sharp edges created during metal fabrication, this innovative technology delivers coverage that exceeds standard single-coat and two-coat powder systems. Powder coatings represent an important technical advance in edge coating and provide applicators with advantages in protecting the most vulnerable metal areas exposed to abrasive conditions. Direct-to-metal coatings are fully refinishable and deliver significant savings in materials, labor, facilities and time. PPG Envirocron Extreme Protection Edge powder coatings require no primer, and applicators do not need to modify existing coating lines or add equipment to use this new solution. Applicators can also achieve capital cost savings by eliminating the need to finish edges with mechanical edge rounding or spray equipment. In the long term, PPG Envirocron Extreme Protection Edge powder coatings have the potential to reduce warranty claims and improve sales value by extending product lifespan. The new coatings are available in a wide range of standard and custom colors, including mica and metallics. The product can be applied using manual and automatic powder coating systems.
