PaintIstanbul&Turkcoat International Congress Kicks Off

The paintistanbul & Turkcoat 2018 Congress opened its doors on 20 March 2018 at the InterContinental Hotel Istanbul under the responsibility of Bosad, within the scope of the paintistanbul & Turkcoat Fair and Congress Event organised in collaboration between Bosad and Artkim. The paintistanbul & Turkcoat 2018 Congress began with opening remarks from Scientific Board Chair Engin Çörüşlü, BOSAD Management Board Chair Ahmet Yiğitbaşı and Deputy Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Hasan Ali Çelik. BOSAD Management Board Chair Ahmet Yiğitbaşı stated: "Our industry, with its current economic and commercial structure, production capacity, technological advancement and strong brands, is advancing with significant steps as Europe's 5th largest sectoral producer despite all regional responsibilities. As the balance shifts in the global economy, we are operating in an important region that will shape the global economy in the future. As a paints sector that has achieved international integration and has world-wide connections, we will continue to manage our advantages properly and maintain our opportunity to become the region's largest player." Deputy Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Hasan Ali Çelik emphasised his support for the establishment of Research and Development Centres, stating: "We wish to further raise the quality of our R&D and design centres, numbering over 1,000, so that their technical mechanisms have greater impact and contribute more to our country's industry. In order to spread our industry across the country, minimise the harmful effects of industry on the environment and develop our industry into a more efficient structure, we have laid the foundations for a more effective, cleaner and greener industry through the establishment of organised industrial zones, industrial sites and industrial areas. We are conducting these activities in approximately 310 organised industrial zones and wish to continue our work," he said. The congress, which has the character of an international platform, will present work spanning all scientific and technical dimensions connected to paints technology throughout 21 March 2018.
