Nihat Özdemir Elected New Chairman of the Board of ÇEİS

The 31st Ordinary General Assembly of the Cement Industry Employers' Association (ÇEİS) was held on 20 February 2025 at the ÇEİS Central Office with the participation of senior representatives from the cement sector.

At the meeting where the Board of Directors to serve during 2025-2028 was determined, Nihat ÖZDEMIR, Honorary Chairman of Limak Holding, was elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Chairman ÖZDEMIR's first statement was: "ÇEİS will always move forward 'with solid steps towards the future'."

The 31st Ordinary General Assembly of ÇEİS, one of the roof organizations of the cement sector, was held with the participation of delegates from member organizations. At the General Assembly, the members of the Board of Directors, Audit Board and Disciplinary Board to serve at ÇEİS during the 2025-2028 period were determined. In addition, ÇEİS General Secretary Dr. H. Serdar ŞARDAN informed sector representatives about the work carried out by the association in the previous period.

At the General Assembly, Nihat ÖZDEMIR, Honorary Chairman of Limak Holding, was elected as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors, while Suat ÇALBIYIK, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OYAK Cement Factories Inc., was elected as Vice Chairman. The other members of the Board of Directors were: Adil Sani KONUKOĞLU, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sanko Holding; Burak Turgut ORHUN, Head of Materials Technologies Group at Sabancı Holding; Fatih YÜCELIK, Chairman of the Executive Board of Aşkale Cement; Tevfik BİLGİN, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nuh Cement Group; Gülant CANDAŞ, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Batısöke Söke Cement; Ş. Nihan ATASAGUN, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Göltaş Lakes Region Cement; and M. Cenker MİRZAOĞLU, CEO of Çimentaş.

ÇEİS Will Always Move Forward "with Solid Steps Towards the Future"
Nihat ÖZDEMIR, the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of ÇEİS, spoke as follows in his first statement: "With 65 facilities operated by 34 member organizations, ÇEİS represents nearly the entire cement sector. With the 31st Ordinary General Assembly, we have left behind a highly important day for our sector and our country's industry. For our sector, which has a deep-rooted history, witnessed the founding of our Republic, and holds an important place in our economy, I wish the new Board of Directors well, and I thank the valued representatives of ÇEİS and my colleagues in the management for the favor they have shown.

I would also like to thank our previous Board of Directors Chairman and member colleagues for their determination and contributions to the development of the cement sector. We will continue to carry out the task we have taken over from them with dedication and without shying away from any responsibility, with the aim of making greater contributions. ÇEİS, as it has for 60 years, will continue its activities aimed at doing what is necessary for the development of the cement sector and, in particular, for preserving the industrial peace we have established in labor relations in our sector, and will strive to achieve results that also benefit society."
