Merck Türkiye Receives 'Women-Friendly Brands Awareness Award'

Awards were presented to their recipients at a ceremony held at İş Sanat for the 'Women-Friendly Brands Awareness Awards,' organized for the fifth time this year by the Women-Friendly Brands Platform. Merck Turkey earned the 'Women-Friendly Brands 2025 Awareness Award' in the 'Gender Equality' category through projects implemented under the 'EmpowerHer Initiative.'

Since 2021, the 'Women-Friendly Brands Awareness Awards,' organized by the Women-Friendly Brands Platform during International Women's Day week on 8 March, found their recipients for the fifth time. At the program where women-friendly projects that serve gender equality awareness, advocate for women's rights, support women's empowerment, and take awareness steps in this direction are awarded, 51 projects from among applications were submitted for evaluation in 6 different categories.

Following jury evaluation, Merck Turkey earned the 'Women-Friendly Brands 2025 Awareness Award' in the 'Gender Equality' category. This prestigious award was given for projects implemented under the EmpowerHer umbrella, Merck Turkey's third initiative centering gender equality, which support the development, education, and empowerment of both women working within the company and female leaders outside the company in disease awareness areas.

Among the works that brought the award to Merck Turkey within the scope of the EmpowerHer initiative are: strong human resources practices supporting gender equality, continuous training opportunities provided to increase women's participation in the workforce and support their careers, and the benefit to employees in Turkey who request it from Fertility Treatment Benefits provided globally to all employees at Merck.

Among the practices highlighted within EmpowerHer scope are the Company's active role in supporting the development of female leaders in the 'Women Leaders for Health' initiative, providing scholarship opportunities until graduation to 25 female medical students affected by the earthquake through the 'Merck Turkey 25th Year Scholarship Fund,' and support for the 'Health for Women, Bright Futures' podcast series, Turkey's first of its kind, aimed at raising awareness on women's health.

At the ceremony hosted by Ece Vahapoğlu, the awards were presented to the Merck Turkey team by Nazlı Demirel, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Women-Friendly Brands Platform.
