L'Oréal Türkiye "For Women in Science" programme applications continue

L'Oréal Turkey continues the "For Women in Science" project implemented in cooperation with UNESCO Turkey National Commission this year as well. Applications for the program in 2024 will be accepted until 15 May. The "For Women in Science" program continues in its 22nd year. The project, implemented by L'Oréal Turkey in cooperation with UNESCO Turkey National Commission, aims to support gender equality in science and increase the visibility and recognition of young and talented women scientists by showcasing their achievements.
Project support worth TRY 200,000 will be provided
Applications for the program will be accepted until 15 May, and as a result of the program, 4 young and talented women scientists under 40 years of age whose promising and inspiring work contributes to the advancement of science will each receive project support worth TRY 200,000 to use in their scientific research. Women scientists under 40 years of age working in the fields of "Life and Environmental Sciences" and "Physical Sciences" with original science projects can apply to the "For Women in Science" program. Applications can be made online at www.forwomeninscience.com. Projects selected as award-winners will be announced to the entire country through a national award ceremony.
The project has received approximately TRY 4 million in support over the last 10 years
Under L'Oréal Turkey's "For Women in Science" program, a total of 5 women scientists from Turkey were selected as "International Rising Talent," with 4 of them receiving consecutive awards, and 1 woman scientist was recognized with the "International Laureate" award. As one of the first 5 countries supporting the program, L'Oréal Turkey has provided approximately TRY 4 million in support over the last 10 years to support women scientists' projects. The selected women scientists can also participate in the "International Rising Talent" application process and become part of the program. As a result of this program, they gain recognition worldwide in addition to financial support.
5 of the women scientists recognized with the award have also won the Nobel Prize
On the international side of the program, 122 women scientists have been recognized with the Excellence in Science Award to date, and 5 of the women scientists who won this award have also won the Nobel Prize. L'Oréal Turkey wants to see Turkish women scientists among Nobel Prize winners and supports this project so that women scientists from Turkey are recognized as a powerful source of inspiration for the international scientific world.
