High School Students Produce Stoves for Earthquake Region Stoves manufactured by vocational high school students in Sakarya and Karabük will be distributed to residents affected by the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş. In Karabük, teachers and administrators at Vocational and Technical Anatolian High Schools have begun producing stoves for dispatch to the earthquake region. The schools prepared 100 tent and street-type stoves in a single day. Stoves produced by volunteer teachers and administrators in the school workshops will be sent to earthquake survivors temporarily sheltering in tents in affected provinces. In addition to the two vocational high schools, the Karasu Public Education Center's production workshops are manufacturing products to meet the food, clothing, heating and sanitation needs of earthquake victims.

District National Education Director Çetin Turhan stated that they are rapidly carrying out the production efforts they initiated during the pandemic period, this time for the earthquake region.

Turhan noted that the Karadeniz Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Food Production Workshop prepares 3,000 sandwiches daily and dispatches them the same day, and continued: "Two teachers and two master instructors from this school went to the region with all kitchen equipment and are producing hot meals there, distributing them to our citizens affected by the earthquake." Turhan stated that they are conducting liquid soap production in the Chemistry Workshop of Şehit Hasan Keleş Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, noting that they have sent 1,000 tons of liquid soap to the region to date. Indicating that stove production has also begun within the school's Metal Technologies Department, Turhan said, "We will accelerate production and send it to the region urgently. At the Public Education Center, all sewing and embroidery courses are producing emergency need items such as scarves, beanies, gloves and hats to protect earthquake survivors from the cold. As of today, we have handed over to trucks for shipment. We have the capacity to produce all types of products including liquid soap, clothing, heating materials and food whenever needed. We are ready to produce and send any type of product from Karasu whenever the region requests it. This is a day of unity and solidarity." he stated.   Source
