Global-Standard Efforts in the Cosmetics Sector

The Association of Cosmetics Manufacturers and Researchers (KÜAD) is expanding the scope of its activities to support sector development and ensure innovative products reach the market safely.
The "Responsible Technical Personnel Training in the Cosmetics Sector," conducted by KÜAD for the first time in the sector, is attracting significant interest. Through KÜAD Academy training programs, manufacturers receive instruction in all areas required for global markets, while KÜAD also organizes delegation programs to cosmetics industry events and conferences worldwide.
The Association of Cosmetics Manufacturers and Researchers carries out innovative projects that benefit both manufacturers and consumers. These projects promote the use of sustainable materials while contributing to the development of safe and effective products. The association also supports research and development processes by increasing knowledge sharing in the sector.
KÜAD President Levent Kahrıman: “Another initiative we are undertaking within the association is vegan certification. Vegan cosmetics are cosmetic products that do not contain animal-derived ingredients and have not been tested on animals. Vegan cosmetic products are preferred by consumers who show sensitivity to animal use or harm and object to the use of animal-derived ingredients. The benefits of a cosmetic product having a vegan logo and certification include: Consumer Trust, Animal-Friendly, Ethical Marketing, Environmentally Friendly, Health and Sensitivity, Innovation and Awareness. In this regard, we are giving extra attention to vegan certification efforts.
We organize the International Cosmetics Congress, which we hold annually and which continues to grow, with its 8th edition taking place in Ankara on 16-18 December. Rather than an ordinary congress, it is an intense three-day event where sector professionals make the connections they need, training sessions and workshops are organized in relevant fields, and international speakers and decision-makers participate. This congress is actually a period in which we have implemented sector firsts. We exhibited Turkey's first cosmetics museum at our congress, we include academics and students from relevant university departments each year, and we organize project competitions on recycling and sustainability,” he said.
KAHRIMAN, emphasizing their goal of revitalizing agricultural production and providing economic support to local communities, stated: “We are also contributing to the sustainability of agricultural activities in Hatay. We purchased products produced by farmers in Hatay through KÜAD management and distributed them to members and solution partners. In this way, we provided economic support to earthquake-affected farmers and enabled them to regain their production capacity,” he explained.
STRENGTHENING SECTOR TRANSFORMATION WHILE SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY
The "What Should We Produce?" Summit, held by KÜAD for the second time this year, focuses on transformation and change processes in the cosmetics industry, aiming to make strategic decisions for the sector's future. Participants discuss changes in consumer demands, the use of innovative materials, and environmental impacts, developing joint solutions to sector challenges.
The Association of Cosmetics Manufacturers and Researchers continues to lead developments in the sector while responding to community needs through social responsibility projects. The association aims to collaborate with all stakeholders in the sector to build a sustainable future.
