Kordsa's Second Ministry-Approved R&D Centre

Kordsa, a global player in the tyre, composite and construction reinforcement technologies market, has obtained its second R&D Centre approved by the Turkish Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology. The Composite Technologies Excellence Centre, where R&D and production processes for composite technologies are consolidated under one roof, has officially acquired R&D Centre status. The Composite Technologies Excellence Centre, established by Kordsa, a Sabancı Holding subsidiary, in collaboration with Sabancı University to consolidate R&D and innovation work in composite technologies under one roof, has officially acquired R&D Centre status. With this centre, Kordsa now has two officially approved R&D centres. Kordsa's other R&D centre, located in İzmit, serves as the R&D and innovation hub for tyre reinforcement and concrete reinforcement technologies for the global and Turkish markets. Companies and centres that meet the criteria established under the current Law No. 5746 and its implementing regulations are approved as R&D Centres by the Turkish Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, and these qualifications become official.

Within the framework of the law implemented by the Ministry to upgrade the technological level of industrial companies and enable them to produce innovative products competitive in both national and international arenas, the Composite Technologies Excellence Centre met all the relevant criteria and earned this qualification. One of the world's leading development centres in the field of composite technologies, the Composite Technologies Excellence Centre conducts fundamental research, applied research, technology development, product development, entrepreneurship and all production processes under one roof. All relevant stakeholders in these processes—researchers, designers, engineers, production process managers and staff, doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, academic faculty, incubator company entrepreneurs—are located within the same ecosystem, and thus the Composite Technologies Excellence Centre serves at all stages of the research and development cycle that begins with fundamental research according to customer requirements, continues with prototype production and concludes with serial production.
