Metropolitan Municipality Applies Insulation Coating to Underpasses
Metropolitan Municipality Installs Insulation Coating on Underpasses
The Metropolitan Municipality is modernizing, improving functionality and enhancing the aesthetics of underpasses and overpasses in Ankara that significantly alleviate traffic congestion. The Urban Aesthetics Department has completed composite facade cladding work on the Alparslan Türkeş Underpass on Mevlana Boulevard (Konya road) and the Melikşah Bridge Underpass in front of Taurus Mall. Teams from the Civil Works Department equipped the walls surrounding Malazgirt Boulevard, which runs through Çiğdem District, with coatings featuring acoustic insulation properties. Officials from the Urban Aesthetics Department noted that composite cladding, which does not trap dust and dirt, does not ignite, and requires no painting, was chosen to replace the existing hair coatings in underpasses that are continuously soiled by heavy vehicle traffic. They stated that this type of coating has a longer service life and possesses acoustic insulation properties. Officials indicated that the special-production composite facade cladding with sound-absorbing characteristics and greater resistance to soiling is intended to reduce maintenance costs, eliminate noise pollution, and improve the aesthetic appearance of vehicle routes. Officials stated that work is ongoing to apply the solution to other underpasses. Source: http://www.haberler.com/buyuksehir-den-alt-gecitlereyalitim-kaplamasi-9287874-haberi/Advertisement
