Kids' Lab's Latest Stop: Rahmi M. Koç Museum BASF's social responsibility project Kids' Lab, which has been fostering a love of science in children since 2011 with the mission "Creating chemistry for a sustainable future," has made the Istanbul Rahmi M. Koç Museum its latest destination. BASF's social responsibility project Kids' Lab, launched to inspire children about science, has begun meeting with children at the Rahmi M. Koç Museum in its new phase. With the collaboration starting in December, schools under the Beyoğlu District National Education Directorate began visiting the museum and conducting chemistry experiments under the guidance of museum educators. To date, Kids' Lab has engaged with more than 50,000 children across various cities and venues in Turkey, conveying the everyday applications of chemistry through hands-on experiments while instilling awareness of sustainability. Prior to the Rahmi M. Koç Museum, Kids' Lab most recently met with 400 children at the opening festival of the Red Roof Children's Center in Kahramanmaraş, established by the Red Children's Association for children affected by the earthquakes on 6 February. The collaboration with the Rahmi M. Koç Museum, which is committed to contributing to children's social and cultural development and fostering their mental, physical, emotional, cognitive and social growth, imagination and creativity, is planned to continue throughout 2024 with new content. At the centre of BASF's social responsibility projects is the fourth goal of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education. In addition to Kids' Lab chemistry workshops, which have been running since 1997 globally and since 2011 in Turkey, leading projects include the "81 Chemistry Laboratories in 81 Provinces" project, launched and completed with the support of the National Education Ministry as a local initiative, and the "Experimental Science with Basfi" channel, which continues to engage young people on YouTube. Scientist Basfi, who conveys the wonders of science to children and young people through entertaining experiments, also shares quality content with followers on Instagram and TikTok.
