Kayalar Kimya, a leading chemical company in Türkiye, is implementing a solar power plant investment with 6 MWp generation capacity in Elazığ as part of its sustainability vision.
Kayalar Kimya is launching a solar power plant project in Elazığ within the scope of its sustainability targets. The facility, which will have an annual electricity generation capacity of 9,753,740 kWh, will enable the company to meet all of its energy needs from renewable sources. The facility will also contribute to the Elazığ region environmentally and economically.
A strong step in green transformation
The facility, to be implemented by Rhofa Enerji for Kayalar Kimya, will prevent 6,106 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions when operational, creating environmental benefits equivalent to removing 5,030 vehicles from traffic. Upon project completion, electricity generation equivalent to meeting the electricity needs of 6,096 households will be provided, and will create an environmental impact equivalent to adding 271,414 trees to nature.
At a signing ceremony held on 22 October at Kayalar Kimya's Tuzla facility, Kayalar Kimya Board Chairman Ersin Kenan Kayalar, speaking about the project, said: "Our solar power plant in Elazığ is a strategic step taken by Kayalar Kimya in line with its sustainable production targets. The widespread adoption of renewable energy sources in industry is a guarantee of both our environmental responsibility and our long-term competitiveness." Board Member Tolga Kayalar conveyed the message: "Our investments in energy efficiency and sustainability at Kayalar Kimya are aimed at shaping not only today but also the future. Our solar power plant in Elazığ is a concrete reflection of this vision."
