Kastamonu Entegre Raises the Bar in Sustainable Production

Kastamonu Entegre, one of the global brands in the wood-based panel sector, has become the first Turkish company to be awarded the REACH Compliance Certificate under the European Union's chemical safety regulations. The certificate, issued by Sweden-based RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, confirms the company's full compliance with low formaldehyde emission criteria while also certifying its sustainable production approach on an international scale.

Kastamonu Entegre, a global brand in the wood-based panel sector, has become the first Turkish company to qualify for the REACH Compliance Certificate under the European Union's chemical safety regulations. The certificate, issued by Sweden-based RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, certifies the company's full compliance with low formaldehyde emission criteria while documenting its sustainable production approach at an international level.

The certificate, regulated under REACH Regulation (EU) 2023/1464 – Annex XVII, Entry 77, is based on compliance with formaldehyde emission limits established for wood and wood-based panels. The certification process was conducted within the framework of the SPCR 020 rule set aimed at verifying formaldehyde emissions, while Kastamonu Entegre's MDF and particleboard products were approved according to EN 717-1 and EN 16516 test standards.

Low Emissions, High Environmental Contribution
Low formaldehyde emissions reduce environmental impact while improving indoor air quality and contributing to the creation of healthier living spaces. The REACH Compliance Certificate obtained by Kastamonu Entegre stands out as concrete evidence of the company's environmentally compatible and responsible production vision, shaped by its "Bridge from Nature to Life" approach.

Low-emission products also offer project developers additional points and preference advantages in international green building certification systems such as LEED, BREEAM and DGNB.

Provides Export Competitive Advantage
Under new regulations coming into force in the European Union as of 6 August 2026, the formaldehyde emission limit for wood and wood-based panels exported to the European market will become mandatory at 0.062 mg/m³. As the first company in Turkey to obtain this certificate, Kastamonu Entegre is achieving compliance with the said regulation from now on, placing sustainability and regulatory compliance at the centre of its export strategy.

With this step, Kastamonu Entegre strengthens its production approach focused on environment and human health, while reinforcing its position as a competitive and reliable business partner in international markets.
