KAÇUV Stands by Children in the Earthquake Zone

KAÇUV has launched support activities in the region following the earthquakes that occurred in Kahramanmaraş and affected 10 provinces. In Turkey, 5,000 children fight cancer each year. On 15 February Childhood Cancer Day, the Foundation for Hope for Children with Cancer (KAÇUV), with its 'Notice the Yellow' campaign, aims to raise awareness while drawing attention to the needs of children undergoing treatment and emphasizing the importance of early diagnosis. At Family Homes, the foundation's most important service, children and their families can stay free of charge throughout the treatment process. Beyond this, KAÇUV runs events and projects to improve the psychological, social, physical and medical quality of life of children, and also carries out important work such as the My Hope Education Scholarship Program and the Hope Box project.

Support Activities Launched

KAÇUV launched support activities in the region following the earthquakes that occurred in Kahramanmaraş and affected 10 provinces. The foundation, organized to identify and meet the needs of children undergoing treatment and their families, listed its activities in the region as follows:

Accommodation Support:

For children affected by the earthquake whose treatment continues and their families, we first provide accommodation support at KAÇUV Family Homes. Additionally, we will provide accommodation support in hotels and hostels for varying periods in Istanbul, Bursa, Izmir, Ankara and Antalya provinces.

Food Support:

We provide food support through digital shopping codes on a regular weekly basis for 3 months to 221 children undergoing treatment and their families.

Medication Support:

In cooperation with the Istanbul Chamber of Pharmacists, we provide medication supply support for children undergoing cancer treatment.

Cash Support:

We provide cash support for 3 months to 221 earthquake-affected families to meet their needs (medication, fuel, clothing, home textiles, etc.).

Hope Box Support:

We deliver 'Hope Boxes' consisting of medical and hygiene products to 1,000 families in the earthquake zone.

Psychosocial Support:

We will expand the "Adding Color to Life Through Art Project" that we conduct for children undergoing treatment together with KAÇUV psychologists and volunteers to include children and families affected by the earthquake.

Volunteer Support:

Through our volunteers, we provide coordination support in areas of need in the disaster zone, ensuring the flow of verified and accurate information.
