Janssen TURGAN's New Appointment

Janssen, one of the world's largest healthcare companies dedicated to the well-being and health of people of all ages and at every stage of life for over 130 years, has announced a new appointment. Başak Ögdem, Board Member, TURGAN Business Excellence Leader and Ukraine Commercial Projects Coordinator, has been appointed as J&J AMET Region Business Excellence Director (COE AMET) as of 1 October 2024.

Başak Ögdem, Board Member of Janssen TURGAN (Turkey, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan), Business Excellence Leader and Ukraine Commercial Projects Coordinator, assumed her new position as J&J AMET Region Business Excellence Director (COE AMET) as of 1 October 2024. In her new role, Ögdem will continue as Board Member of Janssen TURGAN and will maintain close contact with Emerging Markets General Managers, European Strategy Organization, Customer and Digital Strategy Steering Board in her ongoing work.

In her new position, Başak Ögdem will manage the team in the AMET region and support the commercial organization through her expertise in digital, business analytics and strategy. She will also monitor key healthcare market trends, product portfolio performance, market dynamics and competitive landscape in therapeutic areas, sharing insights with in-country business leaders and regional management as appropriate. Ögdem will contribute to sales and marketing strategic decisions that positively impact sales growth and ensure consistent implementation of sales force effectiveness metrics across the region in Emerging Markets (EM).

Who is Başak Ögdem?

Joining Johnson & Johnson in 2011, Başak Ögdem has held diverse management roles across functions and sectors spanning sales, marketing and business excellence covering TURGAN and the Middle East and Africa throughout her 13-year career. Most recently, she served as TURGAN Business Excellence Leader and Ukraine Commercial Projects Coordinator. Before joining J&J, she worked at TEVA Pharmaceuticals and various healthcare sector companies. Başak Ögdem holds a degree in Economics and Communications as well as a Digital MBA and resides in Istanbul.
