A Meaningful Call from AÇEV at the Istanbul Marathon

Anne Çocuk Eğitim Vakfı (AÇEV), which has been working for exactly 30 years to give children an equal start in life, is inviting everyone to run together at the Türkiye İş Bankası 46th Istanbul Marathon, saying "Break through the distances for children!"

AÇEV is running in this year's Istanbul Marathon to connect children with limited access to educational materials that support their development with educational box games. AÇEV General Director Senem Başyurt says, "Let's come together and break through the distances to provide equal opportunity for children."

Anne Çocuk Eğitim Vakfı (AÇEV) has been supporting, for exactly 30 years, children whose development is at risk due to social and economic disadvantages, enabling them to have an equal start in life. Through intervention programs it implements for young children and their parents, it works to ensure a good and healthy early childhood period, create a more developed society, and provide equal opportunity in education.

AÇEV is now advocating for children's right to play and running in this year's Istanbul Marathon to connect children with limited access to educational materials that support their development with educational box games. At the Türkiye İş Bankası 46th Istanbul Marathon to be held on Sunday, 3 November, it is inviting everyone to run, saying "Break through the distances for children!"

"Let's take steps together for children"

AÇEV General Director Senem Başyurt, noting that play is one of children's most basic rights, says the following: "We know that educational box games support children's mental, social-emotional, physical and language development. At the same time, parents accompanying their children's play strengthens the relationship and communication between them. However, not every child has easy access to educational materials that support their development. This has driven us to take action by advocating for children's right to play and connecting them with educational box games. To connect more children with educational box games developed by AÇEV's child development and education specialists, we invite everyone to run with AÇEV at the Istanbul Marathon. Let's take steps together, break through the distances for children."

How to become an AÇEV runner?

Volunteers who wish to run the course together with AÇEV at the Istanbul Marathon can support the initiative either individually or by forming an AÇEV running team at their workplace. Anyone wanting to contribute to AÇEV connecting more children with educational box games can review details on AÇEV's corporate website www.acev.org. Volunteer runners can register for the Istanbul Marathon until 14 October 2024. Between 21 October and 18 November, they will be able to fundraise to support AÇEV. In this way, volunteers and those who donate to their campaigns will support AÇEV in connecting more children with educational box games.
