Istanbul Minerals and Metals Exporters Associations (İMMİB), which operates through six member unions to increase Turkey's exports, diversify export products and enhance their competitiveness, has appointed a new Coordinator President.
Murat Akyüz, Chairman of the Board of Istanbul Chemical Substances and Products Exporters Association (İKMİB), took over the position of İMMİB Coordinator President, which he will serve for one year, from Namık Ekinci, Chairman of the Board of Steel Exporters Association. İMMİB comprises six exporter associations: Steel Exporters Association, Electrical Electronics and Services Exporters Association, Istanbul Chemical Substances and Products Exporters Association, Istanbul Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters Association, Istanbul Minerals Exporters Association and Jewelry Exporters Association. The Board Chairmen of the six associations rotate annually to assume the İMMİB Coordinator Presidency. Over the coming year, İMMİB Coordinator President duties will be carried out by Murat Akyüz, Chairman of the Board of Istanbul Chemical Substances and Products Exporters Association (İKMİB). İKMİB Chairman Murat Akyüz will represent Istanbul Minerals and Metals Exporters Associations, one of 13 general secretariats nationwide and the one with the highest export volume among them, in all official organizations and activities during his term. He will ensure coordination and harmony in numerous activities ranging from trade delegations under the general secretariat to trade fair organizations. Stating that he is pleased to assume the role of İMMİB Coordinator President once again, Murat Akyüz said, "First, I would like to thank Namık Ekinci, Chairman of Steel Exporters Association, from whom I have taken over this duty, for his work. İMMİB is the largest of Turkey's 13 Export General Secretariats nationwide and accounts for approximately 30% of Turkey's exports. The six associations serving under the İMMİB umbrella are working with all their resources to contribute to the growth of Turkey's economy and take our exports much further. Despite all difficulties, our goal in the new period will be to further develop our export activities and increase our share of Turkey's exports," he said.Advertisement
