IGLO Architects Designs Beko Management and R&D Center

Designed by IGLO Architects in the Manisa Organized Industrial Zone, the Beko Management and R&D Centre brings production, research-development and management processes together under one roof, offering a comprehensive working environment. The structure reinterprets industrial production culture through contemporary office thinking, drawing attention with its architectural approach focused on functionality, sustainability and user experience.

To date, IGLO Architects has provided architectural design, project and implementation services for companies operating in various sectors in Turkey and abroad. At the Beko Management and R&D Centre, the firm designed a contemporary work campus that establishes strong connections with production infrastructure. Developed under the leadership of Architect Zafer Karoğlu and Architect Esen Akyar Karoğlu, the project brings together management, production and R&D functions while providing spatial solutions that support interaction within the institution.

Establishing a Strong Link Between Production and Innovation
Located within the Manisa Organized Industrial Zone, the building was designed with the goal of creating a strong physical and functional relationship between management, production and R&D processes. Administrative units and technical research areas were differentiated from one another, while simultaneously establishing an organization that ensures seamless communication and access between departments.

The mass structure, aligned with industrial scale, makes its relationship with production infrastructure visible at the architectural level, while contributing to employees' efficient and comfortable working experience.

Aesthetics and Performance Combined in Façade Design
The precast panels used on the building's façade create a strong and minimalist architectural character in harmony with the industrial environment. Mesh sunshades designed from textile material filter daylight in a controlled manner, providing visual comfort in interior spaces and contributing to energy efficiency.

The R&D units positioned on upper levels are supported by social terraces defined by wide-span canopies. Open areas facing mountain views and the inner courtyard located at the building's centre create semi-open spaces that support natural air circulation while strengthening social interaction among employees.

Transparent and Efficient Spatial Layout
The showroom and lobby area located on the building's entrance floor was designed as a transparent and welcoming reception space that conveys Beko's global activities to visitors. The laboratory and testing areas positioned in the rear section are organized through circulation lines directly connected to office volumes, configured to enhance operational efficiency.

Sustainability as Part of Design
The sustainability approach at the Beko Management and R&D Centre is not limited to structural solutions. IGLO Architects revalued industrial components such as washing machine drums generated in the production process as landscape elements, making them part of the design.

This approach strengthens the building's relationship with production culture while presenting a creative and sustainable perspective on the reuse of industrial waste.
