IC İçtaş İnşaat Completes One of Saudi Arabia's Largest Investments

IC İçtaş İnşaat completed the construction of terminals 1 and 2 at King Khalid International Airport, following terminals 3 and 4. Ranked among the world's largest airports by area and completed in 60 months, King Khalid International Airport increased its annual passenger capacity to 30 million with the renovated terminals and connecting structures.

IC İçtaş İnşaat successfully completed a comprehensive transformation process at King Khalid International Airport, which it engineered and constructed. Having previously delivered terminals 3 and 4, IC İçtaş İnşaat realized all terminal structures at the airport with the completion of terminals 1 and 2. The ceremony was attended by Riyadh Emir Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Transport Minister Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser and GACA Chairman Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej; IC Holding Board Chairman İbrahim Çeçen, IC İçtaş İnşaat Board Chairman Fırat Çeçen, IC Holding Board Member Reha Denemeç, IC İçtaş İnşaat General Manager İbrahim Döenmez and IC İçtaş İnşaat Regional Manager Cemil Beşen were present.

King Khalid International Airport, one of the world's largest airports by area, significantly increased its passenger capacity and service quality with the completed terminal investments. Within the scope of work undertaken by IC İçtaş İnşaat, architectural, electromechanical and technological infrastructure in the terminals were renewed, and passenger comfort, operational efficiency and safety criteria were brought to international standards. With all completed terminals, the airport aims to become one of the region's most important transportation hubs in line with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 objectives.

Multidisciplinary Expertise in Airport Projects
IC İçtaş İnşaat General Manager İbrahim Döenmez stated in his assessment: "Airports are extremely complex structures requiring the simultaneous work of numerous disciplines with high coordination. The experience we have gained in airport projects we have implemented in Turkey and abroad forms our strongest asset in large-scale projects like King Khalid International Airport. A Large-Scale and High-Technology Terminal Investment
Within the scope of terminal projects implemented at King Khalid International Airport, construction and renovation work carried out over 300,000 square meters renewed all architectural components, electromechanical equipment and information technology infrastructure from start to finish. Within the project scope where 4,000 people work, 10,000 tons of steel manufacturing, 6 kilometers of baggage handling systems, 82 E-Gates and advanced technology systems supporting airport operations were put into service. Terminal buildings were designed to handle heavy passenger traffic and implemented with flexible and sustainable operational infrastructure.

These works carried out by IC İçtaş İnşaat also enabled the airport to stand out internationally in the area of passenger experience. King Khalid International Airport ranked among the world's top three airports in the passenger experience category among over 200 airports in the AirHelp Score 2025 Report.
