Humanis is leading the sector through renewable energy investments and data-driven energy management. With a low-carbon future target, the company continues to achieve concrete results through renewable energy investments. As of 2025, the company meets 81% of its energy needs from the sun's unlimited and clean power. Meanwhile, Humanis stands out as the only pharmaceutical company among the top 50 firms in the Turkey EN-VERİM 100 research.

Operating under the principle of "sustainable healthcare for all," Humanis shared its renewable energy vision and investments on 22 June World Renewable Energy Day. Viewing energy management as a strategic priority, Humanis pursues a holistic energy strategy aimed at increasing efficiency in production and operation processes and reducing environmental impacts. Humanis' energy efficiency policy targets raising energy awareness, ensuring efficient energy use through employee participation, and accelerating the transition to renewable energy sources. The company prioritizes monitoring energy consumption through digital systems while implementing various measures to reduce carbon emissions. Valuing investment decisions aligned with technological developments, Humanis ensures full compliance with legal requirements throughout these processes and adopts a transparent communication approach with stakeholders.

Meeting 81% of energy consumption from solar power plants
Following its rooftop solar power system (SPS), Humanis reached a renewable energy installed capacity of 6 MW with its land-based SPS investment. As of January 2025, the company increased its energy share from SPS to 81%. Particularly in March and April, it met its entire electricity consumption from solar energy. Additionally, Humanis prefers I-REC certified renewable sources in its procured electrical energy. Continuing its commitment to reduce carbon emissions by 2030 in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), Humanis views this target not merely as an environmental commitment but as a cornerstone of a climate-aligned growth model.

Achieving operational savings through energy audits
Humanis places great importance on energy audits as one of the fundamental elements of its energy management strategy. Through comprehensive energy audits, energy-intensive processes are analyzed and improvement initiatives aimed at reducing consumption are implemented. This data-driven approach enables both reduction in operational costs and minimization of environmental impacts. Having implemented successful energy efficiency projects, Humanis was ranked among the top 50 companies making the highest investments in energy efficiency in Turkish Time magazine's Turkey EN-VERİM 100 research. Moreover, it stands as the sole pharmaceutical company achieving this success, setting an example in the sector.

"We are making energy awareness part of our corporate culture"
Commenting on the energy policies they pursue, Humanis Head of Technical Operations Fatih Elay said: "Energy efficiency and renewable source use are not a choice for us, but a natural part of our responsibility to the future. As Humanis, we are working determinedly to use resources more efficiently and reduce our carbon footprint. Through our solar energy investments and improvement steps based on energy audits, we are realizing a transformation that looks to tomorrow, not just today. By placing our employees at the center of this transformation, we are making energy awareness part of our corporate culture. At the point we have reached today, we take pride not only in our sector but also in being a pioneering institution in our country's renewable energy journey. We will continue working to leave a cleaner, more livable world for future generations."
