Henkel, a global leader in adhesive, sealant and functional coating solutions, has taken an important step toward sustainability-focused supply chain transformation. The company announced a strategic partnership with SEKAB, a specialist in renewable chemical solutions.
The collaboration, to be conducted under the Henkel Adhesive Technologies division, focuses on developing bio-based solutions as alternatives to fossil-based raw materials used in the production of high-performance industrial adhesives. In the initial phase of the partnership, the goal is to supply and integrate a sustainable, bio-based alternative to conventional ethyl acetate into production processes.
Through this partnership, Henkel aims to reduce the environmental footprint of its product portfolio while contributing to customers' climate and sustainability targets. Seamless integration of renewable raw materials into the existing value chain is among the key components of the company's long-term sustainable growth strategy.
