Henkel Records Strong Organic Sales Growth and Improved Profitability in First Half of 2025

Global chemical and consumer goods company Henkel accelerated its organic sales growth while also increasing profitability in the first half of 2025. Sales reached EUR 10.402 billion at group level, while operating profit (EBIT) came in at EUR 1.614 billion.

Global chemicals and consumer products company Henkel accelerated organic sales growth in the first half of 2025 while also improving profitability. Group-level sales reached EUR 10.402 billion, while operating profit (VFÖК) came in at EUR 1.614 billion.

Henkel CEO Carsten Knobel commented on performance: "The increase in organic sales growth comes from both business units. Particularly noteworthy is the consecutive rise in volume growth in Consumer Brands. Our Adhesive Technologies business unit achieved positive organic sales growth thanks to balanced development in price and volume," he said.

2025 Fiscal Year Outlook Updated
Henkel updated its 2025 fiscal year forecasts in line with strong first-half performance and expectations for the second half. Carsten Knobel stated: "We expect more profitable growth for fiscal year 2025 and anticipate strong sales growth in the second half of the year. Our updated outlook largely aligns with current market expectations." The company forecasts organic sales growth in the range of 1.0–2.0% for the fiscal year.

Business Unit Developments
Adhesive Technologies:
Organic sales increased 1.2% in the first half. Organic growth of 2.8% in the Mobility and Electronics business area and stable growth in the Packaging and Consumer Products business areas supported this performance. Adjusted VFÖК margin rose to 17.2%.

Consumer Brands:
Organic sales increased thanks to strong growth in the dishwashing category in the Home Care business area and positive development in the Hair business area. Adjusted VFÖК margin reached 15.3%.

Henkel strengthened the resilience of its business units by focusing on global trends including mobility, digitalization and sustainability through its "Purpose-Driven Growth Agenda" encompassing strategic priorities. The top 10 brands represent approximately 60% of Consumer Brands business unit sales and recorded organic growth exceeding 3% in the second quarter.

Innovation and Sustainability-Focused Projects
Adhesive Technologies: High single-digit growth was achieved through sustainable innovations in metal packaging. For example, a low-temperature tin can cleaner with low foam content enables energy and water savings.

Consumer Brands: Significant growth in the Consumer Paints category was achieved through the launch of the Creme Supreme brand in new markets. Innovative bonding technology strengthens hair structure and prevents breakage.

Views of Henkel CEO Carsten Knobel
"After a slow start to fiscal year 2025, we recorded significant progress particularly in our consumer business units in the second quarter. We continued to increase profitability in both business units. We are transforming Henkel for a successful future and with our clear strategy we are on track for more profitable growth," he said.
