Over the past 5 years, through investments it has made, Hektaş increased its market value 48-fold as of year-end 2021, and moved up two positions in the Financial Times Stock Exchange (FTSE) Emerging Europe Index listed on the London Stock Exchange, advancing to the 'Large Cap Index'. Hektaş, one of Turkey's leading firms in precision agriculture, has moved up two positions in the Financial Times Stock Exchange (FTSE) Emerging Europe Index traded on the London Stock Exchange. Thus Hektaş transitioned from the 'Mid Cap Index' to the 'Large Cap Index'. The company had previously moved from the 'Small Cap Index' to the 'Mid Cap Index' on 21 September 2020. OYAK Food Agriculture and Livestock Sector Group Head Levent Ortakçıer stated that Hektaş, as a company that touches both producers and consumers and creates value for the Turkish economy, has entered many new areas such as organomineral-based plant nutrition, seeds, animal health and pet food over the past six years. Ortakçıer noted that the company, which is traded indirectly on the American and London stock exchanges and preferred by foreign investors, continuously develops its product and customer portfolio, and aims to expand into foreign markets in particular in the coming periods, significantly increasing export and production volumes.         HEKTAŞ was established in 1956 in Adana for the production and marketing of pharmaceutical drugs, with savings pooled together by a majority of physicians and chemists, pharmacists and agricultural engineers. Given that large domestic and foreign companies held high market shares in the pharmaceutical sector under the conditions prevailing at the time of its establishment, the company decided to focus on agricultural chemical production and marketing, which was its main field of activity, and in this context established its first production facility in Istanbul Cevizli in 1962. Today, OYAK, one of Turkey's largest industrial groups with approximately 90 companies operating in the automotive, cement, mining, energy, chemicals, finance and services sectors and approximately 30,000 employees, joined Hektaş's partners in 1963 and became the largest shareholder with 53.8 percent stake in 1981. Following OYAK's partnership, Hektaş went public in 1981, and its shares began trading on the Istanbul Stock Exchange in 1986.
