Daydream Exhibition to Open on 5 November Feyzan Alasya presents her exhibition "GÜNDÜZ DÜŞÜ /DAYDREAM" at Galeri Diani starting 5 November! In this exhibition, the artist reflects realities through poetic language while once again conveying to us the universality of melancholy, pain and outcry. Feyzan Alasya sings her songs through powerful patterns and striking paintings, and viewers walk with her sensing both melancholy and, on the other hand, hope. In her paintings where realities are reflected through poetic language, the universality of melancholy, pain and outcry found in Valery's verses is conveyed to us once again. Feyzan Alasya's paintings are her way of attempting to understand the world and of analysing it. As Tahsin Yücel notes when discussing an analytical method, the creative process of her works is not "a habit of listening to oneself, of becoming enthused with oneself, but rather, first and foremost, an effort to understand 'the other,' to create the objective conditions for understanding 'the other'". And perhaps for this reason mythology, mythological figures that are a product of humanity's desire to give meaning to life, have formed the thread of the painting. The figures used on the painting plane form a synchronic system. On one side mythological figures, on the other patterns evoking our present day exist within the same space. This synchronicity allows for evaluating the past, present and future together, perhaps even for a confrontation. One can speak of anarchy in his timeless paintings. Anarchy, which rejects all forms of authority, is reflected to us as a rebellion. This rebellion is actually a search for the joy of living and happiness stemming from melancholy, from the pains of existence. This search, this effort to understand the world continues with conscious dreams that are created, strong patterns are the creation of dreams, of what is dreamed, and Art recreates the world.
