GEBTEK Brings Chemicals and Technology Together
GEBKİM, Turkey's first chemical-industry specialized industrial zone, has established the GEBKİM Technology Development and Solutions Center (GEBTEK) with the vision of enhancing the intellectual capital of Turkish industry in technology, innovation and sustainability, and inspiring other players globally.
GEBTEK will support GEBKİM members not only in chemical R&D activities but also in digitalization, compliance with current regulatory requirements, project management services, establishment of international business networks, human resources consulting, sustainability and Green Deal compliance processes.
Objective: Connecting the Sector with Qualified Human Resources
GEBTEK aims to help its members access qualified human resources through academy seminars it will organize and to strengthen the bond between the sector and the academic world. GEBKİM Board Chairman Vefa İbrahim Aracı, speaking at the GEBTEK opening event, outlined the services planned to be provided at the center: "Management of national and international chemical competency certificates, Information on regulatory changes and current legal requirements, Carbon footprint measurement and reporting services, National and international project management services, Establishment of international business networks, Investment feasibility support for international markets, Corporate maturity analyses, Digitalization and technology management consulting services, Corporate infrastructure systems transition consulting services, Introduction of entrepreneurial ecosystem actors and pilot implementations, Human resources process consulting services, GEBTEK Academy seminars."Research Underway on Chemicals Not Currently Produced in Turkey
GEBTEK, which has the mission of strengthening Turkish chemical industry's position in the global market and enabling members to advance by providing the solutions and services they need during transformation and technological development processes, will take important steps to reduce import dependency in raw material needs. The center will conduct R&D activities for the production of chemicals not currently manufactured in Turkey, applying the principles of the Green Deal action plan. GEBKİM, using the Green Deal as a springboard and aiming to turn it into an opportunity, seeks to be an example in the green transformation of chemical-specialty industrial zones. GEBTEK, targeting carbon footprint neutrality, advancing its current zero-waste project and promoting corporate sustainability through solar energy panels, will also serve its members in establishing international business networks. GEBTEK, which will manage national and international chemical competency certificates, provide project consulting and investment feasibility support for international markets, is preparing to make its mark on Turkey's chemical sector export success.GEBKİM MTAL Integration
Working together with GEBKİM Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School (GEBKİM MTAL), the Technology Development Center aims to establish advisory boards composed of names from both the academic and industrial worlds who have achieved significant success through their chemical work in Turkey and globally. At GEBTEK, where experts from fields such as circular economy and digital technology will take roles, students will be able to witness the production processes of base chemicals and experience R&D work in chemistry firsthand.Advertisement
