Eti Alüminyum Focuses on Value-Added Production in 2025

Eti Alüminyum, Türkiye's only primary aluminum producer, shifted its production portfolio toward value-added products in 2025 while strengthening its industrial infrastructure through R&D, rolling mill and green energy investments. The company aims to build a more strategic production capability across aluminum's wide range of uses, from the defense industry to high-quality industrial applications.

Eti Aluminyum, Turkey's sole primary aluminum producer, redirected its production portfolio toward high-value-added products in 2025 while strengthening industrial infrastructure through R&D, rolling mill and green energy investments. The company aimed to build more strategic production capability across a broad range of applications spanning defense industry to high-precision industrial uses.

Eti Aluminyum General Manager Mehmet Arkan, describing efforts to support production activities underway in Seydişehir for more than half a century through investments focused on efficiency, technology and sustainability, made the following remarks regarding the year 2025:

"Aluminum is no longer merely an industrial input; it is a strategic building block across many sectors, from defense to energy, advanced technology to green transition. Our focus in 2025 was strengthening the production and technology infrastructure that will position Eti Aluminyum at the center of this transformation. Through our rolling mill investment, our R&D projects and our green energy initiatives, we believe the steps we are taking today will create higher value-added, stronger competitiveness and a more sustainable industrial structure in the years ahead."

ROLLING MILL INVESTMENT TO SUPPORT STRATEGIC SECTORS
One of Eti Aluminyum's priority investment areas in 2025 was the rolling mill facility under construction. Under the project, with total investment exceeding TRY 10 billion, the facility is planned to reach initial production capacity of 100,000 tonnes, advancing to 200,000–250,000 tonnes in subsequent phases.

With the investment coming on stream, domestic production of hot and cold rolled products critical to defense industry, aviation and advanced manufacturing sectors is targeted. This step is expected to reduce import dependence in flat aluminum products and curb annual imports valued at approximately USD 600 million.

R&D ACTIVITIES OPEN NEW PRODUCTION AREAS
In 2025, Eti Aluminyum supported capacity investments through R&D activities, bringing a specialty alumina production line on stream. Through the line targeting 40,000 tonnes annually, domestic production of high-purity raw material used in strategic areas such as defense industry, ceramics and thermal insulation was secured.

Within the R&D program, lithium recovery pilot production from bauxite residue was also completed successfully. Testing is continuing on domestic production of catalysts used in the petrochemicals sector, with the aim of reducing critical input import dependence should positive results be achieved.

GREEN ENERGY STRATEGY STRENGTHENED THROUGH SOLAR INVESTMENTS
The company transformed production processes through renewable energy investments; in addition to the 189 MW installed capacity solar power plant in Seydişehir, plants with 95 MW capacity in Gaziantep and 4 MW capacity in Çumra were brought on stream. The 42 MW solar power plant planned in Sivas is targeted to bring total installed capacity to 330 MW.

Through these investments, Eti Aluminyum strengthened its target of sourcing all electricity used in production processes from renewable sources in line with its long-term "green aluminum" vision.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY PRACTICES IN THE FIELD
Supporting its low-carbon production strategy through environmental practices, the company brought 37,900 saplings into the ground in 2025 as part of 11 November National Tree Planting Day. The saplings are expected to sequester approximately 490 tonnes of carbon annually during their growth period.

SUPPORT FOR YOUTH THROUGH INDUSTRY Z.0 PROGRAM
Eti Aluminyum continued its efforts in 2025 to develop skilled human resources. Under the Industry Z.0 Program implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education, scholarships, internships and applied training opportunities were provided to students at Seydişehir Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School.

To date under the program, 200 students have completed internships at the facilities, while 180 students have received scholarship support. The model, advancing with mentoring support from company engineers, aims to strengthen industry-education cooperation on a sustainable basis.

Eti Aluminyum plans to continue making long-term contributions to Turkey's industry through its comprehensive strategy spanning production to R&D, energy to human resources.
