Enerjisa Üretim to Produce Green Hydrogen Green hydrogen for Turkey's first Hydrogen Valley will be produced at Enerjisa Üretim's Bandırma Base. According to a statement from the company, an European Union (EU) project coordinated by the South Marmara Development Agency, involving Enerjisa Üretim alongside 16 domestic and foreign stakeholders, with a budget of EUR 36.8 million, has been approved. Within the scope of the 'South Marmara Hydrogen Coastline Valley Project', which will bring Turkey's first Hydrogen Valley to life, Enerjisa Üretim will produce a minimum of 500 tons of green hydrogen annually at the Bandırma Energy Base. The project, which will run for five years, will receive EUR 8 million in grant support from the European Commission. The project will be one of the first concrete steps of the South Marmara Hydrogen Coastline Platform. In addition to green hydrogen production, the project will also focus on the production of its derivatives. The project also aims to produce hydrogen derivatives such as methanol and ammonia, which Turkey currently imports, using green methods and domestic resources, and to conduct feasibility studies in this regard. Within the project scope, a Sodium Borohydride Plant investment will be made in Balıkesir, leveraging the advantages of boron mineral in hydrogen storage and enabling a solid step for the energy sector. Boron, which comprises 73 percent of global reserves in Turkey, will hold an important place in the hydrogen economy. In the project coordinated by the South Marmara Development Agency, Sabancı University, Enerjisa Enerji Üretim AŞ, Kaleseramik Canakkale Kalebodur Seramik Sanayi AŞ, Şişecam, ETİ Maden, Turkish-German University, Linde Gaz A.Ş, Bandırma On Yedi Eylül University, Hidrojen Peroksit AŞ, Universite Mohammed Vi Polytechnique, Alma Mater Studiorum, Software AG (SAG), PwC Yeminli Mali Müsavirlik AŞ, TENMAK and TÜBİTAK are project partners.
