Awards Presented to Top Exporting Companies President Erdoğan presented awards to the top 10 companies with the highest exports in Turkey last year. The council also presented the "Turkey's Top 1000 Exporters 2020 Prestige Book" and shared the results of the research conducted. According to the findings, the total exports of companies in the top 1000 reached USD 92.6 billion, accounting for 54.6% of total exports. Domestic companies comprised 78.9% of the top 1000, generating 59.3% of their total exports. 57.5% of the top 1000 companies were located in the Marmara Region. In 2020, Istanbul had the most companies on the list with 426. By sector, the top 1000 exporters generated 23.8% of total exports from the automotive industry, 10.7% from chemicals and chemical products, 10.5% from steel, 9.4% from ready-made clothing and apparel, and 8.4% from electrical and electronics sectors. The top 1000 exporters provided employment for approximately 1 million people. TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle stated: "In the 1980s, when our annual exports were USD 3 billion, we now achieve this figure in just 2 days. In the 1990s, when our annual exports were USD 15 billion, we now reach this amount in one month. Under the leadership of our President, through bold and visionary industrial and investment initiatives, our exports grew to USD 100 billion in the 2000s and USD 150 billion in the 2010s. Breaking a republican record with USD 180 billion in 2019, we will steadily increase exports to USD 211 billion in 2021 and USD 300 billion in 2026, despite the global pandemic. Exports represent our pride on the world stage. Turkey is now at the threshold of structural change and strong momentum in production and exports," he said. The 28th Ordinary General Assembly of the Turkish Exporters Council (TİM), which serves as the single umbrella organization for over 100,000 exporters working toward the goal of "Turkey with a Trade Surplus," and the 2020 Export Champions Awards Ceremony took place in Istanbul under the hosting of TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle and with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. At the assembly, TİM presented the "Turkey's Top 1000 Exporters 2020 Prestige Book" and shared the results of the conducted research.

The General Assembly and awards ceremony were attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister of Trade Mehmet Muş, Minister of Treasury and Finance Lütfi Elvan, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, representatives of Top 1000 Exporting companies, non-governmental organizations, associations and relevant stakeholder institutions' presidents, TİM Delegates, Board and Supervisory Board Members and Delegates of Exporter Unions, and TİM Council Members. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan presented awards to the top 10 companies with the highest exports in Turkey in 2020. The top 10 companies that achieved the highest exports last year and received awards were, respectively: Ford Otomotiv Sanayi, Toyota Otomotiv Sanayi Türkiye, Oyak-Renault Otomobil Fabrikaları, Vestel Ticaret, Kibar Dış Ticaret, Arçelik, TGS Dış Ticaret, Tofaş Türk Otomobil Fabrikaları, Türkiye Petrol Rafinerileri and Mercedes-Benz Türk. At the ceremony, awards were also presented by Ministers and TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle to the champions with the highest exports in 28 sectors.
