At the workshop, the goals that will guide the sector over the next five-year period, along with its priorities and proposed solutions, were discussed in detail.

Aegean Mining Exporters Association (EMİB) brought together sector representatives at a strategic planning meeting organized to develop the 2026-2030 Strategic Plan with collective industry input. The workshop comprehensively addressed targets to guide the sector over the next five years, sector priorities and solution proposals.

The 2026-2030 Strategic Planning Meeting organized by EMİB was held to establish strategic objectives that will guide the Association's activities in the coming period.

The meeting was attended by TÜMMER Chairman Hanefi Şimşek, İscehisar Stone Merchants Association Chairman Remzi Özcan, Lime Industrialists Association Management Board Vice-Chairman Hakan Tolungüç, EMİB Management Board Chairman İbrahim Alimoğlu and management board members.

Within the scope of the workshop, Industrial Sectors Coordinator Can Karadeniz delivered a comprehensive presentation on EMİB's strategic roadmap. Following the presentation, the Association's priorities for the next five-year period and sector expectations were evaluated in line with participants' views.

Sector priorities on the agenda
The workshop addressed numerous issues of importance to the sector, including trade fair and trade delegation organizations, legislation and legal regulations, development of member relations, the AMORF Natural Stone Project and Design Competition and the TURQUALITY Project.

In line with participants' suggestions, important outputs were obtained that will make EMİB's activities more effective and enable the association to respond more quickly to sector needs, contributing to the strategic roadmap.

"We are developing our strategic plan with collective wisdom"
EMİB Management Board Chairman İbrahim Alimoğlu stated that the strategic planning process is not merely an institutional exercise but a participatory process conducted with contributions from all sector stakeholders, saying:

"For our mining sector to adapt to changing global competitive conditions, to sustainably increase our exports and to provide stronger services to our members, we are developing our strategic plan with the contributions of all stakeholders in our sector. This roadmap, prepared with the understanding of collective wisdom, will guide all activities we will undertake in the coming period."

Alimoğlu emphasized that one of the fundamental objectives of the strategic plan is to strengthen a management approach that more closely monitors members' expectations, is solution-oriented and participatory, continuing:

"We aim to create a structure that directly listens to our members' expectations, produces solutions and continuously develops according to our sector's needs. We are shaping our strategic plan not at a desk, but in the field together with our sector representatives."

Workshop results to be shared with members
Noting that the evaluations and suggestions obtained from the workshop will be shared with sector representatives within the scope of the Member Meeting to be held in Afyonkarahisar in August, Alimoğlu stated that the strategic planning process will continue through visits to be organized in different production regions.

"Starting with the Member Meeting we will hold in Afyonkarahisar, we will meet with our members in all regions we will visit and share the workshop results. Thus, we will keep our strategic plan current and directly reflect our sector's expectations into our decision-making processes."

Public-private sector cooperation to be strengthened
Noting that the sector's needs, problems and solution proposals expressed within the scope of the workshop will also be shared with relevant public institutions, Alimoğlu stated that issues faced by the sector from production to export will be followed in cooperation with relevant ministries.

"We aim to implement solutions in cooperation with public institutions that will increase our members' competitive power, contribute to our exports and support our sector's sustainable growth."

Through activities to be conducted in line with EMİB's 2026-2030 Strategic Plan; strengthening institutional capacity, improving the quality of services provided to members, shaping activities according to sector needs and further enhancing the competitive power of the Turkish natural stone and mining sector in international markets are targeted.
