Eksun Gıda Shifts to 100% Clean Energy in Production

Eksun Gıda, Türkiye's leading retail flour producer, has begun construction of wind power plants (WPPs) with a total capacity of 18.9 MW, for which it has obtained incentive certificates, to meet the energy needs of its production facilities. Hasan Abdullah Özkan, Chairman and CEO of Eksun Gıda Group, stated that once the WPPs are operational, the company will use clean energy generated from renewable sources across all its production processes.

Eksun Gıda, Turkey's leading retail flour producer, has begun construction of wind energy power plants (WEPs) with a total capacity of 18.9 MW for which it obtained investment incentive certificates to meet the energy needs of its production facilities. Eksun Gıda Group Chairman and CEO Hasan Abdullah Özkan stated that with the implementation of the WEPs, the company will use clean energy from renewable sources in all of its production processes.

Eksun Gıda continues to differentiate itself in the sector through environmental responsibility alongside production capacity. For this purpose, construction work on the WEPs for which permission procedures were previously completed has begun. The power plants under construction in Izmir to supply energy from renewable sources for use in production facilities will have a total capacity of 18.9 MW. With the WEPs becoming operational, the transition to green energy will be prioritized throughout all production processes.

"Our wind energy power plants will serve as an example to the sector"
Eksun Gıda Group Chairman and CEO Hasan Abdullah Özkan, commenting on the matter, stated:

"We have rapidly begun construction of our WEP projects for which we completed permission procedures. With the implementation of the WEPs, our company will use clean energy obtained from renewable sources in all of its production processes. We believe that our power plants in Izmir will serve as an example in the transition to sustainable production models. As a company, we are shaping our energy investments with a focus on sustainability and prioritizing the green transition in our production processes. Our power plant projects are among the most concrete examples of this approach. Through our renewable energy investments, we are accelerating the transition to an environmentally friendly production model while consistently pursuing a transformation process that can serve as an example to our sector."

"We secured a EUR 14.1 million agreement for turbine investment"
Özkan, also providing information on construction timelines, stated: "We have partially completed the road and platform foundation work for our power plants. We have also signed a contract valued at EUR 14.1 million for turbine supply. Under this scope, the transfer of our turbines to the relevant areas will be carried out rapidly. Afterwards, we will begin construction of the turbines. Thus, by increasing our share of green energy use in production to 100 percent, we will also establish leadership in our sector in this area."

Eksun Gıda previously obtained investment incentive certificates with approval from the Ministry of Industry and Technology for the WEPs with a total capacity of 18.9 MW to be established in Izmir Bergama.
