Ecological Urban Design Competition
University students showed strong interest in the "Ecological Urban Design Competition" launched by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization.
The Ministry of Environment and Urbanization's "Ecological Urban Design Competition" has drawn strong interest from university students. Last year's competition saw 330 projects participate, while 500 projects are expected to compete this year.
The ministry launched the competition last year with the aim of raising environmental awareness among universities, and this year marks its second edition.
Applications for the competition, which began on 27 January, have closed. University students showed strong interest in this year's competition. The number of submissions this year reached 500, compared to 330 projects competing last year.
A jury panel consisting of 9 members will evaluate the projects on 8 April. Prize-winning projects will receive awards at a ceremony to be held in Ankara on 6 May.
Within the scope of the competition, which the ministry has made a tradition, TRY 150,000 in prizes will be distributed to university students.
Commenting on the competition, which has attracted strong participation from university students, Environment and Urbanization Minister Mehmet Özhaseki stated that the ministry will increase such efforts with universities and will implement similar projects in other areas as soon as possible.
