Aegean Exporters' Associations (EİB) Reached 2021 Export Target

Aegean Exporters Unions reach 2021 export target ahead of schedule. Jak Eskinazi, Coordinator President of the Aegean Exporters Unions (EİB), stated that the union's annual exports reached USD 16.024 billion with a 25% increase, adding, "Thus, we achieved our target of raising the year-end 2021 goal from USD 15 billion to USD 16 billion 43 days ahead of schedule." In a written statement, Eskinazi reported that the industrial sectors made the largest contribution to EİB exports during this period. Noting that industrial product exports from EİB achieved a 36% growth rate over the one-year period, rising from USD 6.862 billion to USD 9.331 billion, Eskinazi pointed out that the Aegean Iron and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters Union provided the largest contribution to industrial product exports with an export performance of USD 2.121 billion.

Up 25% over the past year

Eskinazi stated that the Aegean Iron and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters Union was the only union exceeding USD 2 billion. He noted that after the iron sector, the largest exports came from the chemicals sector, not represented by an exporter union under the EİB umbrella, with a volume of USD 1.779 billion. Eskinazi added: "These exports once again demonstrated the need to establish an Aegean Chemical Substances and Products Exporters Union within the Aegean Exporters Unions. Our Aegean Apparel and Confection Exporters Union also increased its exports from USD 1.293 billion to USD 1.462 billion and maintained its strong position." Eskinazi stated that they entered 2022 with confidence thanks to export successes, saying, "Over the past one-year period, our exports reached USD 16.024 billion with a 25% increase from USD 12.816 billion. Thus, we achieved our target of raising the year-end 2021 goal from USD 15 billion to USD 16 billion 43 days ahead of schedule."
