Ege Region's Iron and Non-Ferrous Metals Sector Places 28 Companies in TİM's Top 1000 List

The Aegean Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters' Association (EDDMİB) was represented by 28 companies in TİM's Top 1000 Exporters List. Member companies of the Association strengthened the Aegean Region's position as export leader with an export performance exceeding USD 5.1 billion in 2025.

Aegean Iron and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters Association (EDDMİB) was represented by 28 companies on the TİM Top 1000 Exporters List. Union member companies strengthened the Aegean Region's position as an export leader with export performance exceeding USD 5.1 billion in 2025.

The Aegean Iron and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters Association, export champion of the Aegean Region for eight consecutive years, was listed with 28 companies on the Top 1000 Exporters List announced by the Turkish Exporters Council (TİM). Total exports of union member companies exceeded USD 5.1 billion in 2025, while the sector drew attention with the high added value it provides to the Aegean economy.

Fatih Uysal, Deputy Chairman of the Aegean Exporters Associations Coordinator and Chairman of the Board of Management of the Aegean Iron and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters Association, stated that the iron and non-ferrous metals sector ranks among the most important suppliers of strategic sectors such as automotive, construction, machinery, electrical-electronics, air conditioning and defence industries.

Uysal emphasized that union members stand out not only in exports but also in production capacity, noting that 20 union member companies were included in the research on Turkey's 500 Largest Industrial Establishments announced by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry, and these companies generated sales from a total production of TRY 401.3 billion.

Low-carbon production provides advantage in European market
Recalling that approximately 70 per cent of iron-steel production in Turkey is carried out in electric arc furnace facilities and largely using scrap, Uysal pointed out that the sector has a significant competitive advantage in the European market with its low-carbon production structure.

"We have a significant advantage compared to China and other rival countries in adapting to the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism. Should this advantage be reflected in the European Union's trade policies, our sector will achieve a much stronger growth momentum with its production and export capacity," he said.

Başak Metal maintained Turkey's number two position in the sector
Among union members, Başak Metal Ticaret ve Sanayi A.Ş. increased its exports by 18 per cent in 2025, reaching USD 690.2 million. The company moved up to 36th place on the TİM Top 1000 List while becoming Turkey's number two in the iron and non-ferrous metals sector.

Other prominent Aegean companies on the list were ranked as follows:

Petkim Petrokimya Holding A.Ş. ranked 53rd with exports of USD 460.2 million.
İzmir Demir Çelik Sanayi A.Ş. increased its exports by 23.3 per cent, moving up to 107th place.
KCR Dış Ticaret A.Ş. increased its exports by 411 per cent, achieving the highest export growth on the TİM Top 1000 List.
Maxion İnci Jant ranked 138th with exports of USD 228.5 million.
Kardemir Dış Ticaret A.Ş. was placed 159th with exports of USD 190 million.

Operating in the fasteners sector, Norm Cıvata Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. became Turkey's export leader in its sector with exports of USD 182.7 million, while maintaining its distinction as the only company from the fasteners field to enter the TİM Top 1000 List.

Meanwhile, Habaş Sınai ve Tıbbi Gazlar İstihsal Endüstrisi A.Ş., whose manufacturing facilities are located in Izmir, became the export champion of the steel sector with exports of USD 1.21 billion, while ranking as the 21st company with the highest exports across Turkey on the list.

In addition, numerous other EDDMİB member companies including Atom Kablo, Kocaer Çelik, Vergo Enerji, Maxion Jantaş, Jantsa, Klimasan, Nemak İzmir, Krone Trailer, AKG Termoteknik, Baylan Ölçü Aletleri and Atlas TRF Elektrik were included on the TİM Top 1000 Exporters List, contributing to the Aegean Region's export performance.
