Dyo and Transocean Announce Major Partnership in Marine Coatings

DYO, a leading name in marine coatings, has launched a business partnership with Transocean, known as the 'Smiling Dolphin', in Turkey. DYO will produce Transocean-branded products as 'domestic' goods at its facility in İzmir Çiğli. In this way, DYO will offer marine coatings with international certifications and references to the sector on advantageous terms. At a meeting held in Istanbul hosted by DYO Boya Fabrikaları Vice President and General Manager Serdar Oran and Transocean Coatings General Manager Kees Zaal, information was provided about this partnership. Since 1959, Transocean has been developing toxic paints, anti-corrosive coatings and many other coating solutions for ships, offshore installations, industrial facilities and yachts. The partnership between Turkey's established paint brand DYO and Transocean represents a breakthrough in 'domestic' marine coatings. DYO's experience exceeding 65 years in the sector and this partnership with Transocean will offer numerous advantages to the marine coatings industry. First, marine coatings with international certifications and references will be produced at DYO's İzmir Çiğli facility and will acquire a 'domestic' identity. Domestic DYO Transocean products will provide both rapid delivery and cost advantages. All Transocean products are certified in compliance with the IMO-AFS code. The company conducts research and development activities at numerous locations worldwide and works with domestic manufacturers in nearly 60 countries. Transocean coating systems meet the characteristics of the most demanding specifications in the oil and gas industry where Norsok M-501 and ISO-20340 standards are applied. For this reason, companies such as Shell, Eni, YPF, Petronas and ADNOC are known to prefer Transocean coatings in drilling and semi-submersible platforms, coastal facilities construction, as well as maintenance and repair processes.
