DYO Painting Awards Now Accepting Applications

Applications open for the DYO Painting Awards, organised by Yaşar Education and Culture Foundation. The Yaşar Education and Culture Foundation will hold the DYO Painting Awards for the 39th time this year. The competition application period has started, with submissions available through the foundation's website. The application deadline has been set for 30 April 2022. DYO Painting Awards Held for the 39th Time The Painting Awards Competition, the first painting competition organised by the private sector in Turkey, was first launched by DYO in 1967. Since 1993, the competition has been organised by Yaşar Foundation. This year marks the 39th edition, and applications have begun. Submissions can be made through the foundation's website until 30 April 2022. This Year's Theme: Nature and Humanity The competition theme for this year has been set as 'Nature and Humanity'. The jury panel includes Habip Aydoğdu, Prof. Hayri Esmer, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Devabil Kara, Prof. Cebrail Ötgün, Prof. Dr. Ferhat Özgür, Prof. Mümtaz Sağlam and İhsan Yılmaz. Artists aged 18-50 may participate in the competition, though first-degree relatives of jury panel members are not eligible. Each artist may submit a maximum of 3 works. TRY 35,000 in Prizes to be Awarded The preliminary selection of works will be conducted online by the 39th DYO Painting Awards jury panel on 12 May 2022. Works that pass the preliminary selection and whose originals are submitted to the Yaşar Education and Culture Foundation will be evaluated in final judging on 11 June 2022, when prize-winning works and those deemed worthy of exhibition will be determined. Works submitted to the 39th DYO Painting Awards must not have previously participated in any other competition, received awards, or been exhibited or published elsewhere. In the painting category, 4 works will share TRY 35,000 in prize money and plaques; in the original printmaking category, 2 works will share TRY 15,000 in achievement awards and plaques. Prize-winning works and those deemed worthy of exhibition will subsequently be displayed in Istanbul, Eskişehir, Ankara, Mardin and Izmir.
