Global Pharmaceutical Industry Gathers at CPhI Istanbul

Pharmaceutical industry leaders are preparing to host CPhI Istanbul for the fourth time, as the trade fair serves as a prestigious meeting point and unifying force in the region. The event will take place from 8–10 March. The trade fair is expected to attract over 4,000 visitors from more than 40 countries, presenting new opportunities for purchasing delegations, manufacturers and investors from around the world. CPhI Istanbul 2017 will address diverse industry needs through various product categories, and will feature the Biotechnology Conference, being held for the first time this year, to discuss the sector's future direction. Pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors worldwide have begun exploring market opportunities in the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia and the Caucasus regions. Bringing together global pharmaceutical leaders, CPhI Istanbul offers significant opportunities thanks to Istanbul's strategic location at the centre of Asia, Europe and Africa, its developing economy and infrastructure. With its geographic position that highlights Turkey's economic development and investment potential to the world, CPhI Istanbul plays an important role for the sector. With the "Biotechnology Conference" being held for the first time this year, CPhI Istanbul aims to share important regional developments and initiatives in biotechnology. UBM EMEA Istanbul Brand Director Mehmet Dükkancı, noting that Turkey is dependent on imports in the biotechnology sector, stated: "As Turkey, we spend more than 1 billion dollars on biotechnology pharmaceuticals. Yet Turkey's strategic location is an important point for biotechnology pharmaceutical production. We need to communicate our geographic position in this region properly to pharmaceutical manufacturers. For this reason, to enable Turkey to become a hub in the biotechnology pharmaceutical market, we have added biotechnology to our agenda under CPhI Istanbul 2017."

The Biotechnology Conference within CPhI Istanbul 2017 will host numerous speakers from Iran, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, Jordan, Canada, Kazakhstan, Bahrain, India and Spain.
