Dow Launches New Copolymer Polyol Series

Dow Polyurethane, a business unit of DowDuPont Performance Materials Science, is launching production of a new range of copolymer polyols (CPP) to meet the evolving needs of the flexible sponge foam industry. Dow believes that its four new CPPs - VORALUXTM HL 500; VORALUXTM HL 510; VORALUXTM HL 515; VORALUXTM HL 525 - will represent a high class for flexible foam applications. The series has been designed to meet low-emission requirements found in the automotive, furniture and bedding sectors, provide consistency across a wider processing range in foam production, and also contain high solid content for more efficient hardness and load-bearing properties. Following the market launch of the new CPP series, a capacity expansion at Dow's Terneuzen facility in the Netherlands will follow. This facility, Dow's second largest production plant globally, will benefit key sub-markets including furniture and bedding products, coatings, adhesives, fillers and elastomers, building and construction solutions and automotive.
