Daikin, the 100-year experienced brand of the air conditioning industry, continues to add value to society. Daikin Türkiye’s “Clean Air Ambassadors” project, which it launched in 2017 and which has attracted great interest, was deemed worthy of an award in the “Projects Adding Value to Society-Children” category at the Social Benefit Awards 2024. The award was presented at a ceremony held at Hilton İstanbul Maslakon Thursday, November 28.
With the “Clean Air Ambassadors” project, Daikin aims to raise awareness among primary school age children about clean air and environmental consciousness. The “Clean Air Classrooms” created in village schools located in various provinces of Türkiye are equipped with Daikin air purification devices, designed as special areas where students receive education while breathing clean air and gain environmental awareness. With the Clean Air Ambassadors project, Daikin Türkiye has so far reached 1,840 children by opening clean air classrooms in 21 village schools across Türkiye. In the project, which aims to instill environmentally conscious habits in children, topics such as recycling, energy conservation and environmental cleanliness are conveyed through enjoyable methods.
Investing in the future for a sustainable world
In her statement regarding the award, Daikin Türkiye Corporate Communications Department Manager Hülya Dinçer said, “The Clean Air Ambassadors project is not only an awareness initiative, but also an investment we are making in the future for a sustainable world. We place great value on this project, which we launched in 2017, and we are making intensive efforts to reach more children. Being deemed worthy of such an award is a great source of motivation for us. We aim to reach 3,000 children by 2025. In addition, through our website www.temizhavaelcileri.com, which we launched last November, we aim to encourage more children to become Clean Air Ambassadors. We thank the Social Benefit Awards jury for deeming us worthy of this award. We will continue to increase environmental awareness by developing our Clean Air Ambassadors project.” she said.
The award-winning “Clean Air Ambassadors Project” is growing with innovations
Daikin Türkiye, which aims to reach 3,000 children by 2025, aims to spread the “Clean Air Ambassadors” project to wider audiences. Among the plans are opening new clean air classrooms in different regions of Türkiye, raising awareness among more children, including schools in need of clean air in the project, and reaching more children through its digital platform.
Within the scope of the project, the website www.temizhavaelcileri.com was launched so that children can learn environmental awareness in a more fun and interactive way. On the Clean Air Ambassadors Website, children gain environmental awareness with the help of videos, games and animations together with the animated character named ‘Tenki’, which means “air” in Japanese. They collect points by completing the tasks given on the site and reinforce their environmental protection awareness. In addition, within the scope of the project, the book “Clean Air Notebook” prepared with the contributions of journalist and writer Ömür Kurtwas also given as a gift to students. This book explains environmental awareness in an entertaining language and helps children reinforce what they have learned through activities.
Daikin continues to develop the project to ensure that more children join this important awareness movement. Acting with the goal of leaving a cleaner and more sustainable world for future generations, Daikin continues with determination to spread environmental awareness through this project.
