CK Enerji, aiming to promote energy efficiency awareness for a sustainable future, has launched a special training programme for young people with Down syndrome under its Energy Literacy Project. The first training session was conducted at its headquarters in Istanbul in cooperation with the Turkey Down Syndrome Association.
The training, attended by 26 young people aged 16-25 and their families, covered energy conservation, efficient use of resources and safe energy consumption through simple and interactive content tailored to participants' needs. The young people gained hands-on experience with practical methods they can apply in daily life, while families were informed about conscious consumption.
Ali Erman Aytaç, General Director of CK Enerji Boğaziçi Elektrik, highlighted that energy efficiency is strengthened through individual awareness, noting that the project aims to reach all segments of society. Fulya Ekmen emphasised that the programme represents an important step in developing daily life skills for individuals with Down syndrome.
Since its launch in 2018, the Energy Literacy Project has reached thousands of students. CK Enerji plans to conduct training in 40 schools during the year. With this new programme targeting young people with Down syndrome, the project has further expanded its focus on inclusivity.
