Leading plastic sector representatives gather ahead of K Fair

Leading representatives of the plastics sector, which ranks among the top exporters in the chemical industry, met with media representatives ahead of the K Fair. The plastics sector, which has set production and export records, holds the position of Europe's second-largest plastics producer after Germany. With production of 8.6 million tonnes in 2015, the plastics sector has risen to 6th place in the global rankings. The sector is now preparing for the K Fair, the world's largest plastics trade fair, held every three years. Held every three years in Düsseldorf, Germany, and bringing together leading names in the plastics sector, the K Fair 2016 preview saw participants, supporting companies, and press representatives from around the world gather at the K Fair Preview event. Press conferences held as part of the K Fair 2016 presentation took place between 27-29 June, with participation from over 100 guests from more than 30 countries. At the event organized by participating companies, informative presentations, discussions on the plastics sector, and productive networking meetings were held. Innovative products to be presented at the fair in October, new developments in the sector, figures, and the latest trends were shared with media representatives for the first time. Representatives of the plastics sector, which ranks first in chemical industry exports, will take their places at the K Fair to be held in Düsseldorf, Germany on 19-26 October as part of a national participation organized in cooperation with İKMİB (Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters Association) and PAGDER (Plastics Manufacturers Association).

During the K Fair Preview round-table discussions held with participation of executives from Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, General Plastics Europe Deutschland, wdk Association of the German Rubber Industry, VDMA Plastics and Rubber Machinery Association and GKV (German Association of Plastics Converters), Messe Düsseldorf CEO and President Werner M. Dornscheidt made significant statements.

Werner M. Dornscheidt stated that bookings for this year's K Fair have been completed months in advance, noting that participants from Europe, particularly Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, France and Turkey comprise the majority, with an impressive number of participants also coming from the United States. The K Fair continues to serve as an important innovation and trade platform this year for raw materials and auxiliary materials, semi-finished product manufacturers, machinery and equipment, plastics and rubber machinery manufacturers, and manufacturing industries and sectors using these products.
