Third Term Begins at Cesur Kulaçlar
The "Cesur Kulaçlar" social responsibility project for children with Down syndrome, run by the Abdi İbrahim Foundation—established in 2021 by Abdi İbrahim, Türkiye's healing power—is entering its third term this year. In the program, to be held between 27 September 2025 and 17 January 2026, 20 more children will be introduced to swimming.
The Abdi İbrahim Foundation, established by Abdi İbrahim—Turkey's healing force—in 2021, is launching the third cycle of "Brave Swimmers," its social responsibility project for children with Down syndrome. During the program running from 27 September 2025 to 17 January 2026, 20 more children will be introduced to swimming.
Abdi İbrahim continues its operations with the mission of improving life and future, and keeps launching projects that create social benefit through community investment programs. Brave Swimmers, one of the flagship projects of the Abdi İbrahim Foundation, was implemented in 2024 in collaboration with the Turkey Down Syndrome Association. Following strong interest and successful outcomes, the project is entering its third cycle this year. During the program to be held from 27 September 2025 to 17 January 2026, 20 more children with Down syndrome will engage with swimming and take a step on a new development journey.
Multifaceted Development Beyond Sport
Brave Swimmers offers not just sports training, but a multifaceted development journey that touches children's lives. While supporting children in stepping into the water with confidence, gaining swimming skills, and increasing their physical resilience, it also delivers significant gains in social interaction, self-confidence and independent movement skills. Measurements conducted in previous cycles showed that children demonstrated remarkable progress in physical, social and behavioral, cognitive and autonomy development areas.
Dr. M. Oğuzcan Bülbül, Chair of the Abdi İbrahim Foundation Management Board and Head of Human Resources, Corporate Communications and Sustainability at Abdi İbrahim, commented on the project as follows: "Brave Swimmers is not merely a swimming training project for us; it is a journey supporting our children's stronger participation in life. The progress our children showed in the first two cycles and the feedback we received from families demonstrated how well the project answers a genuine need. We are delighted to launch our third cycle this year. Our goal is to develop our project each year and touch the lives of more children and families."
Gün Bilgin, Chair of the Turkey Down Syndrome Association Management Board, shared his thoughts on the project with these words: "With awareness of the value each development step carries in the life journey of individuals with Down syndrome, we take great satisfaction in providing children the opportunity to experience swimming for the first time. Throughout this process, we are not only imparting swimming skills; we are also witnessing their progress in social-behavioral, cognitive and autonomy areas. The enthusiasm our families experience together with their children shows us the true value of the project. We are pleased to continue this journey in cooperation with the Abdi İbrahim Foundation. We eagerly await the third cycle of Brave Swimmers creating lasting and multifaceted benefits in the lives of more children."
