The company's total investments in Renewable Energy Use, Energy Efficiency and Management realized and planned for the 2022-2025 period reaches approximately USD 11.5 million.
Borsan Kablo CEO Arbek Akay, noting that the 2025 energy efficiency and management projects are grouped under three main headings—technological transformation in production processes, industrial heat and insulation solutions, and renewable energy use—stated: "In addition to our ongoing solar energy investments, with improvement steps at designated points, we are reducing manual processes and making our production lines smarter and more energy-efficient. With innovative solutions such as laser technology, we are optimizing energy consumption on the production line while increasing our capacity. Our energy efficiency and management investments, together with our focus on digital transformation, enable processes to become faster and more effective, and minimize production errors."

Industry's Share in Electricity Consumption Above 40 Percent
Borsan Kablo CEO Arbek Akay continued his remarks as follows: "Research institution reports show that the industrial sector, which has the highest share in electricity consumption, conducted more than 40 percent of total consumption during the first six months of 2024. On the other hand, the policy priorities of the 'Energy Transformation-Renewable Energy 2035' roadmap announced by our Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources have been set as energy independence, supply security and the 2053 Net Zero target. In this context, the steps taken by industrial enterprises toward energy efficiency are of great importance for Turkey to achieve its carbon neutrality targets, and as a responsible enterprise, we are proud to contribute to this transformation of Turkey's Industrial Sector."
Borsan Group Pressed Ahead with Investments Approaching USD 210 Million
CEO Arbek Akay, emphasizing Borsan Group's continued growth with its continuous appetite for investment and development, stated: "In addition to our investments in green energy transition, energy efficiency and management at the level of approaching USD 11.5 million during the 2022-2025 period, we held the groundbreaking ceremony for Borsan Kablo Integrated Production Facilities this year in March, which will come to life as one of Turkey's most modern and equipped industrial facilities with an investment cost of USD 180 million. With the facility coming into production within 3 years, we will elevate our contributions to the regional and national economy through a production capacity increase of approximately 150 percent, alongside new employment of 400 people.
Our Borsan Kablo Integrated Production Facilities, which will operate with environmentally conscious production processes, will meet our own water needs with rainwater in addition to our green energy investments. On the other hand, at Borled, our lighting products company within the Borsan Group, as of January this year we have signed a collaboration agreement with our China-based technology partner, implementing investments at the level of USD 25 million focused on technology transfer, R&D and capacity increase. Thus, starting from the 3 years we have passed, the total cost of investments spanning the next 3 years reaches approximately USD 210 million at current exchange rates. Borsan Kablo's internal and marketing investments within the scope of the company's global brand journey are also continuing with increasing momentum," he said.
Borsan Kablo's 2025 energy efficiency projects, in addition to solar capacity expansion, focus on areas such as technological transformation in production processes, industrial heat and insulation solutions, and renewable energy use. The company aims to renew equipment used in production and transition to systems that consume less energy, thereby reducing carbon emissions. To minimize energy losses, significant investments are being made in heat insulation and temperature control systems. Through insulation projects at factories, energy consumption in production will be optimized and substantial annual energy savings will be achieved.
Through these projects, insulation systems will be strengthened to prevent heat loss, and higher performance will be achieved with lower energy consumption in machines. The company also plans to establish closed-loop water cooling systems to reduce water consumption and achieve sustainable production targets.
